Pumping Station One is a hackerspace located in Chicago. Its mission is to foster a collaborative environment wherein people can explore and create intersections between technology, science, art, and culture.
The Challenge: To send a weather balloon, with payload, into near-space to capture pictures of the Earth’s horizon, to return the payload safely to the ground, and to retrieve the payload.

For 2010 we had a new addition to our photographers. Alex went above and beyond the call of duty; not only shooting at Maker Faire but also driving our trailer out there! Check him out because his gas and hitch is what made our event possible this year!
